Torquay is the Surf Coast's biggest town and one of the fastest-growing in the region, with new estates pushing north and established streets running down toward the beach. The ground here is sandy, which digs easily and holds a face badly, so the drainage and the footing detail matter more on a Torquay wall than they would inland.
