Concrete Bench Drops

A bench drop is a concrete step or series of steps built into a sloped site to create flat, usable areas at different levels. You need one when a slope is too steep to use as-is, when you need to establish a level building platform or usable yard area on a falling block, or when you need to manage water runoff and erosion on sloped ground. They are common on residential blocks, commercial sites and civil works where significant level changes need to be handled in a controlled way.

In most cases, yes. Concrete bench drops on sites with significant level changes, or where they are supporting a building platform or retaining material, will need to be designed by a structural engineer. We work with your engineer's drawings directly, or we can recommend an engineer we have worked with locally and coordinate the design process from the start.

Most bench drop jobs run from a few days to around two weeks depending on the number of levels, the volume of excavation required and the complexity of the drainage and retaining integration. We confirm a programmed start and finish date as part of the quote so you can plan around the work.
