Earthworks is the broader term covering all the bulk movement of earth on a site - clearing, grading, levelling, cut and fill, compaction. A site cut is one specific job within earthworks - levelling a building platform to the engineer's specified RL ready for footings and slab. Most residential projects need both.

Yes. Spoil cartage and disposal are handled as part of the job unless the client wants to retain material on site. We work with licensed disposal sites and account for cartage in the quote so there are no surprise costs at the end.

Most residential site cuts take one to three days depending on the volume of cut and fill, access, and whether spoil needs to be removed. Larger commercial and subdivision works can run longer. We confirm a programmed start and finish date as part of the quote.

We run a range of excavators sized to suit the job, from 1.7 tonne mini-excavators for tight residential access through to larger machines for bulk earthworks. Laser-guided grading equipment for level work, compactors, and trucks for spoil cartage. The right machine for the job, not the only one we have.

Yes. Tight-access sites are common in established Geelong streets and infill blocks. We bring smaller machinery and experienced operators who can manoeuvre into narrow side returns, work around existing structures, and protect landscaping and services on the way through.

Yes. On most jobs we are the first trade on site, so we lock dates with whoever is running the program and hand over to the next trade ready to go. We can deal directly with the engineer if specs change mid-job, and we coordinate with concreters, plumbers, electricians and other trades as required.

Yes. Select Civil Group carries full public liability insurance and workers compensation cover on every job. Certificates of currency are available on request.
